Mike Lease 
President

Mike Lease brings over 45 years of general contracting experience to Structures and Interiors. He entered the commercial construction industry in 1974 after serving in the United States Army.

Mike became an apprentice carpenter in 1974 and served a four-year apprenticeship. He was fortunate to work for several of the largest construction companies in Dallas and Fort Worth. At those companies he served in a wide range of positions, from carpenter to project manager.

Mike’s project experience spans a large range of commercial construction projects. His medical background began in 1984 with a large medical construction company in Dallas, Texas where he was a senior project manager working with many for-profit and not-for-profit hospital clients. His project experience includes radiology, oncology, ambulatory surgery centers, dialysis centers, dietary facilities, large medical office buildings, and free-standing hospital facilities.

Mike is very active in the Grapevine, Texas community. He has served on the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2003-2007, served as president of the Grapevine Ambassadors Club from 2002-2003, served as president of the Grapevine AMBUCS Club from 2003-2004, and chairman of the Chamber of Commerce from 2006-2007.

Mike served on the Grapevine City Council from 2007 to 2019 when he retired from the council. As a city councilman he served on the Facilities Committee overseeing millions of dollars of annual municipal construction projects. He also served as council liaison to the Grapevine Heritage Foundation and the Grapevine Golf Course.

Mike is on the board of director’s for Bank of the West, headquartered in Grapevine, Texas.

Grady Herzog has been part of the commercial construction industry for 40 years.

He started his career in the industry as a carpenter in 1979 and advanced to the position of Senior Project Manager and Assistant Vice President of a major construction firm. Through his leadership and vision, that company grew to be one of the largest and most successful general contractors in Dallas, Texas.

His project experience covers all facets of construction from minor renovation to multi-phased construction of hospital patient rooms, special procedure rooms, and operating rooms.

Grady is active in the community of Grapevine, TX.  He served as president of the Grapevine AMBUCS Clubs from 2016-2017.

Stephen Lease, Sr. Assistant Project Manager

Stephen Lease

Stephen is a 2005 graduate of The University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He is also a 2001 graduate of Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas.

Stephen joined the Structures and Interiors team in 2006 and has served as an estimator and project manager.

As an estimator his experience involves hard bid packages as well as budgeting projects from conceptual design through construction documents.  Stephen has strong skills in pre-construction budgeting and cost controlling.

As a project manager Stephen has had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that include imaging centers, surgery centers, dental offices and office buildings.  These projects were as large as $9 Million dollars.

Stephen, with his wife Erica and their two children live in Lantana, Texas.

Bernard

Bernard Smith
Controller

Bernard has served as Controller for Structures and Interiors since 2011. Bernard brings over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. As Controller, he is responsible for all accounting functions including: receivables, payables, job costing, and financial statement analysis. In additional, he also oversees Human Resources. From managing cash flow to reconciling general ledger’s, Bernard’s expertise in managing financial information makes him a valued employee at Structures and Interiors.

Bernard enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with his dog.
